What happens in an autism assessment
- Questionnaires to complete (before the assessment)
- Online interview with a nominated individual to complete the audism diagnostic interview
- An appointment with a psychiatrist and ADOS-trained colleague, including the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule)
- Screening for other common mental health conditions, such as ADHD (completion of diagnosis may require further assessments, at a fee)
- An online feedback appointment for patient and psychiatrist (following the face-to-face
assessment) - A written report with a diagnosis where one can be made and recommendations
