Benefits of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an evidence based, goal-oriented, collaborative psychological therapy approach that focuses on understanding the past and present connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours (termed the ‘formulation’). When used as a treatment for drinking alcohol, drug misuse, or other addictive behaviours, CBT teaches you powerful strategies to help you identify, challenge, and reframe the unhelpful thoughts and behaviours you might be experiencing. Ultimately, it aims to significantly improve your mental health and quality of life.
