Ann is Accredited as both a CBT and an Integrative Psychotherapist. She has worked for nine years as a High Intensity CBT Therapist in a busy NHS Talking Therapies Service alongside a private practice. Prior to this Ann worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist in a variety of therapeutic settings alongside her private practice.
Ann’s skill set includes working with general mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, relationship problems and making sense of difficult personality traits. In recent years Ann has taken on a large proportion of Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) cases and is specialising in making sense of childhood trauma using Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).
Ann has extensive training and experience through her NHS service in treating clients with Long Term Physical health conditions, in terms of managing both mental and physical health holistically. Ann also supervises trainee and qualified CBT Practitioners.
Ann developed an interest and focus on providing a therapeutic service for patients with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and became ASD Lead in her NHS Service, pioneering a work stream ensuring this client group were appropriately catered for.
She has an interest and experience in working with gender dysphoria and reassignment. Ann also works with couples, focusing on the relationship and developing healthy communication. She holds the belief that the way people view their world defines their experience of it, and therefore a change in perspective can lead to relief of distress.
