How to Access Onebright CBT Mental Health Services

Top five CBT tips to help deal with PTSD

Covid-19, isolation and increased levels of stress may be impacting your relationships, focus at work, and ability to plan for the future. When seeking treatment for mental health, ensure you find the right BABCP accredited CBT therapist.

In these challenging times, getting support for your mental health is important. Feeling increased levels of stress, low mood, loneliness, and other mental health issues is common and can lead to problems with memory, focus, and decision-making. There may also be problems with sleeping and a lack of energy, which can make concentrating and completing tasks harder. Stress and anxiety can also make it difficult to think clearly.

The World Health Organization has published Mental health and psychosocial considerations during the COVID-19 outbreak. This provides advice to a range of audiences, including workers and managers, to protect staff from chronic stress and poor mental health during this response.

Some people feel in crisis as part of chronic  mental health problems, or due to stressful and difficult life experiences such as the Covid-19 lockdown, grief, addiction, abuse or money problems. In many cases, we understand that there might not be a specific reason for your thoughts and feelings, however our consistent message to you is the its always OK to ask for help.

When seeking treatment for your mental health, you must check the qualifications and experience of your psychotherapist, so that you can feel rest assured that the confidential information that you share is protected, the therapist is BABCP accredited,  and that they are indeed qualified. A BABCP accreditation is the gold standard for a CBT Therapist and a mandatory requirement here at Onebright.

BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies and are willing to be scrutinized and governed in this adherence as required.

Here at Onebright, there two key ways to access a BABCP accredited therapist:

  • Contact your private health medical insurance if you’d like to be seen by an Onebright therapist
  • Contact Onebright directly to become an Onebright client

Direct – Become an Onebright Client

We can discuss:

  • Online therapy – We can offer one-to-one therapy delivered through Skype, FaceTime or via telephone.
  • Self-guided therapy – Access an online portal that will allow you to work through your problems whenever suits you, anytime, anywhere.

If you choose to work with a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist directly, initially, your CBT therapist will help you complete a list of the problems that you want to address. You’ll also develop realistic, flexible and frequently reviewed goals you would like to achieve.

Your treatment sessions will be structured. Together with your therapist, you’ll set a plan which covers each session and takes account of your changing needs. This collaborative approach includes you focusing on testing new ways of thinking, feeling or behaving, because most of us (but not all) know what our problems are; we need to find out and address why we’re getting in the way of your recovery.
